Who this course is for
You have little or no Greek, you have an exam to pass, and you can give the course six hours of class a week plus some homework.

From zero to A2 — your learning roadmap

No Greek yet? Start with pronunciation, reading, first phrases and basic sentence structure.

Your route to the May exam
Each bar is one week. You learn A1 first, move on to A2, take a mock exam in April, and finish with the last classes in early May.
Classes start on Monday 9 November 2026. Public holidays may move some sessions, and we will tell you in advance.

Modern Greek Academy is led by CEFR-aligned Greek teacher and Philology graduate of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, with 8 years of experience teaching Greek to expats and professionals in Cyprus.
Her teaching experience also includes working with major organisations, including the National Bank of Cyprus and National Bank of Greece, supporting staff participating in European staff-exchange programmes.

Questions people ask
Can I really go from zero to A2 in one course?
The course is designed for it: 150 hours of live teaching, planned week by week towards the exam. Your result also depends on the time you put in between classes, so plan on regular homework as well as the six hours of class.
When is the exam?
The Ellinomatheia exam takes place once a year mid May. We will inform you as soon as the official date is announced.
What if I miss a class?
All classes are recorded and available for replay if you miss one, though we encourage you to attend live as much as you can.
How can I complete the payment of the course?
The course is €10 per hour, taught in a small group so you get more personalised guidance and support. The total for the course is €1,500 for six months, a fast track from zero to A2. What is the refund and cancellation policy?
Because this is a structured, commitment-based course with limited places, payments are non-refundable. If your circumstances change for a serious reason and you decide not to continue, you may cancel at the end of your current payment period. You will have full access to the course until the end of the period you have already paid for.
