You have little or no Greek, you have an exam to pass, and you can give the course six hours of class a week plus some homework.

Your route to the May exam
Each bar is one week. You learn A1 first, move on to A2, take a mock exam in April, and finish with the last classes in early May.
Draft schedule: classes start on Monday 9 November 2026. Public holidays may move some sessions, and we will tell you in advance.
Your teacher
Modern Greek Academy is led by a Cypriot Greek teacher with a Philology degree from the University of Athens and eight years of teaching Greek. We teach the standard Modern Greek that the exam tests, and we show you how it sounds in everyday life in Cyprus, so what you learn in class works at the market, at the bank and in the exam.

Questions people ask
Can I really go from zero to A2 in one course?
The course is designed for it: 150 hours of live teaching, planned week by week towards the exam. Your result also depends on the time you put in between classes, so plan on regular homework as well as the six hours of class.
When is the exam?
The Ellinomatheia exam takes place in mid-May 2027.
Will I learn Cypriot Greek or standard Greek?
Classes teach standard Modern Greek, which is what the exam tests. We also point out the words and sounds you will hear in everyday life in Cyprus.
What if I miss a class?
All classes are recorded and available for replay if you miss one, though we encourage you to attend live as much as you can.
How can I complete the payment of the course?
The course is €10 per hour, taught in a small group so you get more personalised guidance and support. The total for the course is €1,500 for six months, a fast track from zero to A2.
